Kindergarten Transition

Your child must be 5 years old on or before September 1.
The School District of Philadelphia does not test for early admission to kindergarten under any circumstances.
Any 6-year-old child who did NOT attend kindergarten may attend kindergarten instead of 1st grade, at the written request of the parent(s).

Kindergarten and 1st-12th grade new student registration has began for School District of Philadelphia and Charter Schools in Philadelphia.

You can now register 4 ways:

  1. Online
  2. Phone
  3. In-person or
  4. Drop box

Tips for Kindergarten Registration

  1. Register Early to get you pick
  2. If you need assistance ask Sun Bright Director for help
  3. Child can be registered at more than one school including public school and charter school
  4. If you awaiting for charter school registration go ahead and register at multiple schools
  5. You can register for as many charter schools as you want. There is no limit.
